FIESTA MEXICANA REVIEWS
2517 E. Avalon Ave., Muscle Shoals, AL 35661
The BEST MEXICAN Food
Fiesta has grown immensely since its humble beginning, but they still stay true to what makes them great: their salsa. Hands down, best salsa in the Shoals, no matter what those Casa cults might say. It’s made fresh everyday, and it’s obvious once you taste it. Now, this town is divided by allegiances to two different Mexican restaurants, and many verbal wars have spawned from this division. There are the Casa Shoalers and the Fiesta Shoalers. I am a Fiesta guy.
The staff is some of the friendliest I’ve met, and are generous with the refills; they practically fill you up with chips and salsa before your meal arrives. The sound of real, authentic Mexican radio is played over the radio, and most likely you’ll catch some Futbol on the tube while you’re there. It’s a cool atmosphere.
It is, however, typical Mexican restaurant fare, but they have great lunch specials. I usually get the Speedy Gonzales which comes with a beef enchilada, a taco, refried beans, and rice. Its a big plate of food for a small price. The enchilada sauce is good and spicy; the taco is covered in white-cheddar cheese that is fantasticly creamy with the seasoned meat and cold lettuce (drizzle some of their salsa on top of the taco–POW! It’s tasty).
For dinner, their prices go up a bit, but you can still get out of their under 10$ easy (for one person). Their Enchiladas Supremas is a great dish, but come hungry. It’s four flour tortillas rolled and each one is filled with a different substance: cheese, beef, chicken, and bean. It as huge flavor and offers a kickin’ variety of all their best enchiladas. It comes with their entire garden on top of it: lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and tomato. Superb.
So, if you’re in the mood for great, local Mexican, then swing by Fiesta in Muscle Shoals. I can’t say it about their other places, but this one banks. I’ll say it again, great staff and the best salsa in town.Reese S.
